A regulated cross-border settlement infrastructure platform
Cross-border settlement infrastructure, built since 2015.
Transwap is a Singapore-headquartered, multi-jurisdictionally licensed payment institution. We operate the regulated settlement network, licensing footprint, and relationship model that complex cross-border flows require.
Transwap provides the regulated settlement network, licensing footprint, and relationship model that complex cross-border flows require. Pay suppliers, collect from customers, and manage FX across 180+ countries from a single platform. All under direct regulatory supervision.
For Individuals
Individuals benefit from the same regulated infrastructure. Fast transfers to 180+ countries, transparent FX rates, and full visibility on every transaction. No hidden markups, no correspondent bank surprises.
The origin story
It started with a phone call in 1997.
It was the Asian Financial Crisis. Benjamin Wong needed a simple FX contract. His bank's response: spreads so punishing it barely made sense to hedge at all. So he called a friend overseas. They agreed on a fair rate, swapped currencies directly, and moved on.
No bank. No markup. Just a better way.
That phone call planted a seed. The technology was not ready. The regulations had not caught up. But the problem never went away. When fintech changed the rules, Benjamin built Transwap in 2015 to fix what 1997 had first exposed: businesses everywhere deserve fast, fair, transparent cross-border payments.
"The banks haven't changed much since 1997. Transwap did." Benjamin Wong, Founder

Institutional governance
We are building an institution, not a temporary venture. Institutional governance requires:
Values that guide us.
Win clean.
Operating under recognised financial authorities across key jurisdictions, with full regulatory oversight and compliance.
No hidden risk.
No pressure on compliance.
No revenue that weakens the institution.
Own it.
We take responsibility for outcomes.
We escalate early.
We admit mistakes quickly.
We fix root causes — not optics.
Excuses are noise. Ownership builds trust.
Build to last.
We prioritize durable performance over short-term spikes.
We choose:
Sustainable growth
Controlled expansion
Institutional resilience
If it doesn’t survive scrutiny, it’s not success.
Execute with discipline.
Precision is a competitive advantage.
We document.
We follow controls.
We respect decision rights.
We protect confidentiality.
Speed is good. Sloppiness is expensive.
Raise the standard.
We hold ourselves and each other to a higher bar.
We challenge directly.
We act professionally under pressure.
We protect the culture.
Tolerating weak character weakens the institution.
Think long.
We act as stewards of a long-term enterprise.
We ask:
Would regulators respect this?
Would partners trust this?
Would future leadership inherit this proudly?
We build beyond ourselves.
Win clean.
If we can’t defend it, we don’t do it.We compete aggressively and deliver results without cutting corners.
